The gift box is a much better presentation than just tossing a bracelet or pair of earrings in the bottom of a gift paper bag. The gift box helps to make the gift look more special. There is just an added sense of “excitement” to be handed a beautifully wrapped box rather than a paper bag with some tissue stuffed inside and somewhere among all the tissue is your gift of jewelry. It is more of a “surprise” to find your gift from within a box.

If you choose to use paper boxes, be sure you choose high quality paper boxes. If you package your jewelry sales poorly, your merchandise will be viewed as poor quality as well. I know from a first hand experience with the package I received in the mail that was poorly packaged and the jewelry was destroyed due to the poor packaging. My first thought was, “carelessness and poor quality.” Don’t let the same thing happen to you with your jewelry sales.


Purchase jewelry boxes at wholesale for a cost-effective way to add an extra finishing touch for your customers, and if sending through the mail, always remember to wrap in bubble wrap and send in a secure bubble wrapped envelope or box. In the end, you will be glad you spent the extra time and money to do so.

You will have to find ways to be able to sell to complete strangers who do not buy from you just because it is YOU selling something today or tomorrow, but because they actually like what you got to sell and buy it for their own purposes.

Friends and family are good to have to get you started, but look out for a disappointment. A few 100 friends is not going to make you a successful business. You will need to learn how to sell to strangers if you want to succeed at any kind of business venture long term. With that said, never put all your eggs into just one basket!

Social networking is great for connecting to “people you know” but not in daily contact with and also for connecting with people you do not know yet you would like to sell to also. Social networking is one of the easiest and best ways for free advertising.

Develop professional web pages to showcase your one of a kind jewelry designs, collections and projects. Advertise and market your website online and to the general public. Serve some finger foods and refreshments.

Private parties are nice get togethers usually for close friends and family members. It would be nice to be able to offer the appropriate wrapping paper to match their gift giving event.
