Beads have always played powerful roles in people’s lives. They have been symbols of power and wealth, and used in countless rituals and magic. The most dominant role of beads today is “fashion accessories.” Bead jewelry pieces of all kinds prove to be equally at home on the beach as on board room meeting days. For many people an outfit would be considered not complete without the finishing touches of a bracelet, earrings and/or necklace. More often than not nowadays, the choices are bead bracelets, earrings and/or necklaces. Bead jewelry is here to stay and probably will be around until the end of time.
However popular these bead designs remain we are all still presented with having to decide on the “right look,” for each outfit. The “right look” comes from choosing the correct design, color and style of beads and the choices here are “staggering.”
The art of stringing beads is extremely simple, however, a bit more complex than stringing popcorn and yuletides during the holiday seasons. This is just one article, yet throughout the pages of my blog, I hope readers will be able to use the information as a personal resource as a beader or as a person who is looking to buy bead jewelry. The articles will contain information about selecting beads, learning which is the best stringing materials and why, as well as learning helpful how-to tips about the art of beading tips and more.
You will also find on my blog, https://carmilitashandmadejewelry.wordpress.com information about tools and equipment, product reviews, color harmony and more.
Bookmark the site and return often as I am adding “new” information daily.
When a person learns all the in’s and outs of the art of beading, jewelry is easily created that exceeds or rivals anything you would find in a jewelry store. I have seen bead necklaces sell for $300 or more, however, you can also find beautiful pieces of bead jewelry that exceeds or rivals anything you would find in a jewelry store in more expensive gems for much less prices than $300.
This is one of the absolute best things about bead jewelry. The expense can be as great as fine jewelry, yet at the same time, be much less expensive and still look strikingly beautiful. It is all in how the beader puts their colors together, the types and beads and other jewelry findings they use and their own personal techniques that can make a difference.
