If you want to create the most secure loop possible when making dangled earrings, use the3 wire wrapping technique. In this article I will explain step by step instructions.
Step 1: Add a bead or beads to a head pin leaving at least one inch of head pin above last bead.
Step 2: Grab the head pin wire directly above the last bead using the tip of chain nose pliers.
Step 3: Push the wire to a 90 degree angle using your finger.
Step 4: Grasp the wire right at the bend point with round nose pliers.
Step 5: Using the round nose pliers with wire grasped pull the wire around the round nose pliers until it is almost pointing directly down.
Step 6: Open round nose pliers, but do not pull the pliers out of the loop, to reposition pliers. Pivot pliers so the bottom tip is on the top.
Step 7: Pull the wire around nose of pliers to a complete round loop.
Step 8: Grip the loop with the chain nose pliers and grip the wire with your fingers to continuing wrapping the loop.
Step 9: Wrap the wire around and around the head pin all the way down to the bead.
Step 10: Cut off extra wire as close to the last bead as possible using wire cutters.
Step 11: To prevent sharp pieces of wire sticking out that will snag you and your clothing, use chain nose pliers to tuck remaining tip of wire safely away from being able to create snags of any kind.
And so there you have it, a complete step by step instruction guide for wire wrapping!
